In 2008 during my final year of study, I approached Mark for work experience component. Working alongside Mark allowed time to develop an idea generated from the “Roar” experience. The words I wrote for the Glamour and Portrait photography marketing were straight from the heart.
I respect the magic of photography, particularly the potential of portraiture to empower and release women. Unlike the classic 80s style glamour photography, this does not rely on Photoshop and makeovers. It is reliant on a sensitive photographer with an intuitive ability to grasp the essence of the subject. My presence as a stylist and a woman, who has fought hard to accept a body far removed from social norms, enhances the objective of unearthing the undeniable beauty in every woman, irrespective of age, weight, disability or disfigurement.
If you live outside of Whanganui and you are interested in legacy portraiture, I recommend organising a minimum group of four and booking Mark and myself for the day. Mark and I can offer you a fun, unique and potentially life changing experience ...possibly the ultimate girl’s weekend. |
